Summer Camp 2012 - Creative Clay Camp for Kids Ages 5 - 13 |

Working with clay develops coordination, concentration, and teaches kids how to transform ideas into creative expression.
Our students will learn such techniques as: pinching, coiling, slab work, cartooning, abstract work, various textured
applications, extruding, free-form, press-molding, and relief carving. We will also be providing textile design instruction
and jewelry making to our classes. We will be working with dyes, fabrics, beads, glazes, acrylics, and watercolors.
During each class they will be gaining knowledge about studio materials. Tuition includes materials, studio fees, firings,
glazes, beads and paints. No experience is necessary. Please send your child along with a one snack and water
(for half-day classes) or two snacks, one lunch and two waters (for full-day classes). On Monday or Tuesday,
bring one plain cotton white t-shirt or pillow case to batik (morning and full-day only). If you are late to pick up your child, you will be charged a fee of $10 per 15 minutes. Class credit given for cancellations. We reserve the right to dismiss children with bad behavior. No refunds will be given under these circumstances. The camp is taught by the owner, Susannah Sloan and two assistants. The maximum number of campers per week is 30. The camp is taught by the owner, Susannah Sloan, and two assistants. We work on different clay and craft projects each week, so you can sign your child up for multiple weeks. Students can sign up for anything from a half-day class to several weeks. |

Summer Camp Prices Half-Day Classes: 9am-12:30pm or 1:30-5:00pm $155/week Full-Day Classes: 9am-5pm $240/week One day drop-offs: $35/half-day class or $50/full-day class One day drop-off campers can be registered the week before if room is available. We accept 50% or full payment in order to secure a place in the class. The remaining balance is due on the first day of camp for your child. We do not offer refunds for our summer camp program. However, we are flexible and can switch your child to another week if there is space available. EXTENDED CARE: We allow for 8:30am drop-offs for an additional fee of $5/day per child. We also allow late pick up for a fee of $5/day per child for 5:30pm pick up and $8/day per child for 6pm pick up. The campers will then sculpt a clay piece with lots of help from the instructors. 10:30-11am Clean up and snack time. If it's a sunny day, we'll sit outside the shop on the walkway. 11am-12:30pm The campers will work on clay project. 12:30-1:30pm Clean up, pick up for half day morning campers, and lunchtime for full day campers. 1:30-3pm Half day afternoon campers arrive with their shirts or pillowcases. The campers will work on a clay project. 3-3:30pm Clean up and snack time. 3:30-5pm The campers will work on a clay project. 5-5:15pm Clean up and pick up for campers. 5:30 or 6pm Late pick up campers leave. Wednesdays 8:30am Early drop off children arrive. 9-10:30am Half day morning and full day campers arrive. The campers will be batiking their shirts or pillowcases with waxes and dyes. 10:30-11am Clean up and snack time. 11am-12:30pm The campers will work on a beading craft project. 12:30-1:30pm Clean up, pick up for half day morning campers, and lunchtime for full day campers. 1:30-3pm Half day afternoon campers arrive. The campers will work on a craft project such as mobiles, watercolor paintings, masks, recycled art, etc.. 3-3:30pm Clean up and snack time. 3:30-5pm The campers will work on a craft project. 5-5:15pm Clean up and pick up for campers. 5:30 or 6pm Late pick up campers leave. Thursdays and Fridays 8:30am Early drop off campers arrive. 9-10:30am Half day morning and full day campers arrive. The campers will be glazing a clay piece they made on Monday or Tuesday. 10:30-11am Clean up and snack time. 11am-12:30pm The campers will glaze one of their clay pieces. 12:30-1:30pm Clean up, pick up for half day morning campers, and lunchtime for full day campers. 1:30-3pm The campers will glaze one of their clay pieces. 3-3:30pm Clean up and snack time. 3:30-5pm The campers will glaze one of their clay pieces. 5-5:15pm Clean up and pick up for campers. 5:30 or 6 pm Late pick up campers leave. Pieces can be picked up on the Tuesday following the week of class. |
