Your art. Your way.

The safety of our customers and employees is something that we take very seriously. We are taking precautions to ensure that our community has a safe and healthy environment in which to create art. We are following all the recommendations of the CDC and the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services. Our shop is small and we’re focused on providing folks with a healthy outlet for creativity!

We offer take home paints and ceramics for those of you looking into activities that can be done at home. Once the glazed pieces are completed, you can drop them back at the shop to be fired in our kilns. Or, if they’ve been painted with acrylics, they’re done once the paint is dry!

Glazed Expectations is a paint-it-yourself ceramic and sculpture studio. We offer all day ceramic painting, clay summer camp, birthday parties and events for children and adults.  Whether you’re looking to book a large party or event for up to 30 people or just spontaneously walk in by yourself or with a small group of people, we have all the tools and instructions needed to help you with your ceramic projects. No reservations are necessary for groups under 6.  We are locally owned by Susannah Sloan, who you can contact at 919-933-9700 to schedule your next event.  Glazed Expectations Ceramic and Sculpture Class Studio is located in Carrboro, North Carolina.

What People are Saying about Glazed Expectations…

“Fantastic summer camp. I learned a lot of sculpting skills that I now use in my high school sculpture class, as a result, I am at an honors level!”  –Elizabeth Bishop

“My daughter attended a summer camp at Glazed Expectations and had such a wonderful time she wanted to have her birthday party there. The owner was so nice and helpful, the price was very reasonable and my daughter and her friends had a great time!”  –Jan DeSpirito

“My daughter Cici has attended Glazed Expectations summer camps for several years and they are always a highlight of her summer. The pottery materials are of the highest quality with smooth, workable clay and a very wide selection of colorful and vibrant glazes. Susannah provides inspired project ideas and the campers then take off in their own creative directions. The finished products are a delight.”  –Rachel Rempel

“After researching many summer camps I chose this one, and after three camp years absolutely no regrets!  As a parent I felt great knowing my daughter was safe, she loved going every day, she had fun and learned valuable skills as well. A parents dream! Susannah is the best, I highly recommend this camp!”  –Rich Bishop

“I like making clay art and talking to people; it’s been a part of my summer fun since I was six.”  –Dane H.

“Every year since our son was in first grade, we have registered him for multiple camps to keep him engaged and socialized during the summer months. Glazed Expectations has always been on the top of our list. Our son has loved this camp year after year. It is well organized and Susannah does an unbelievable job. Our son is always excited to talk about what he did that day on the ride home, which is not always the case with other camps. Over the years he has made some impressive clay art which he is very proud of.”  –Todd Hagens
